Tutorial - 5 Minute Fabric Organizer

If you sew or do any craft that involves fabric, you probably have a bunch of fabric scraps knocking around in a box or drawer. If you're anything like me, you are also wasting money buying new fabric when you already have some great stuff that you've totally forgotten about.

To fix this problem I've come-up with this quick and cheap way to get scraps organized and have way to visually see what's on hand at a glance.

All you need is:
• A box (preferably with a lid) I used The Container Store's "Our Best Box." They're not paying me, I really like this box.
• Double sided tape

As you're putting your fabric in the box cut a small swatch of each one. When you're done, put double sided tape on the outside of the box and stick the swatches onto the tape. Bing, bang, boom, done! To celebrate, you can download the "I'm organized" thought bubble clip art here and smugly enjoy how organized you are.

When you need to get inspired you can go to your box and just look at the outside to see what you've got on hand. You can also pull the swatch off rather thank dig through the box if you need to match colors or take it to the fabric store with you.
